Obituary: Blanche Christina Burnside Olson

Blanche Christina Burnside Olson 3/16/1928 ~ 9/05/2005 Blanche Christina Burnside Olson, age 77, passed away September 5, 2005 following a long illness. Born March 16, 1928 in MountainVille (Mt. Pleasant), Utah to James C. and Vera McArthur Burnside. Married Don R. Olson September 13, 1947, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple September 13, 1972. She was an active member in the LDS Church and served in various positions. Blanche worked many years at Sears in the payroll department and a teacher's aid at the Riverview Jr. High School. She was a very loving and giving person, she loved being with her family and grandchildren on their various Friday nights, eating at different places each time. She loved cooking for her family on Sundays, as well as traveling with them-especially going to Nauvoo, IL many times. Blanche was a great cook and loved sharing her food with her loving neighbors and friends. Survived by her husband of 58 years; son, Joel D. Olson (Cathy); three grandsons, Jason, Dallin, and Shad, all of Salt Lake; three sisters, Iris Stratton, Erma Tonneson, and Winona Vincent, all of the Salt Lake area; sister-in-law, Helen Craig, Vancouver, WA. Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Mac, Wayne, and Francis; and one sister, Elaine. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Murraydale Ward, 6300 So. 300 E. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., Murray, Utah and Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 So, Sandy, Utah.
