Obituary: Arno Gene Walbom

Arno Gene Walbom 1934 ~ 2005 Arno Gene Walbom was born October 8, 1934, and died September 5, 2005, after a valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. Arno was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lorenz Iver Walbom, Sr. and Estella Goodwin. Arno was an active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed many callings. He was well known for his contagious smile, and his love for life. He loved driving a truck for various trucking companies, water skiing and dancing. Most of all he loved his wife, Karen. They both loved spending time with each other and going on trips. A highlight of their trips included visiting many L.D.S. temples throughout the United States. They were married July 21, 1979, and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 26, 1992. Arno was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenz and Estella Goodwin Walbom; his daughter, Antonetta; his brothers, Tom (Janet), and Lorry (Jean); sisters, Stella Cracroft, Mary Ramano (Bruno), and Gwen Caputo. Survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughter, Kaylein (Mark) Turrel; grandchildren, Heather and T.J. Rich; brother, Bill; sister, Louise Broughton; various nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Candy "Tootsie Roll," Tracy, and Kevin at Care Source, and a special thanks to Dr. Zachrison and his staff. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crescent 16th Ward 275 East 10600 South. Friends may call Thursday evening September 8, 2005, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, or at the church prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
