Obituary: Michael Ward Jensen

Michael Ward Jensen 6/26/64 ~ 9/05/05 Michael Ward Jensen, age 41, born June 26, 1964, died Sept. 5, 2005. Mike was born in Des Moines IA, moved to Rapid City, SD until 1973 when his family moved to Cheyenne, WY. He graduated in 1982 from Cheyenne Central High; he joined the US Navy in 1985. After three years of service he moved to Salt Lake City, UT. He was employed by C.R. England Trucking, Dick Simon and Central Refrigerated. Mike married Michelle Welsh on June 20th 1992 in Cheyenne, WY at Ascension Lutheran Church. Mike has three children: Kyle Michael, Breanne and Lexie. He is survived by his wife and children, parents Bernard and Joann of Cheyenne, WY, two brothers Anthony (Elizabeth) Jensen of Everett, WA, and Daniel (Fatima) Jensen of San Diego, CA, two nephews, several aunts uncles and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Ethel White of Des Moines, IA, and Laverne Jensen Sloan of Rapid City, SD. He loved to play golf and fish, but most of all he loved his family. A viewing will be held on Friday Sept. 9th at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 So) from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held Saturday Sept. 10th at 11 a.m. at the same location with a viewing one hour prior to the services. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made at any Zion's Bank in the name of Children of Michael W. Jensen Donation Account. The family would also like to thank the paramedics and staff at Jordan Valley Hospital for their efforts, kindness, and consideration.
