LDS brethren hateful to gays

According to Karen McCabe (Readers' Forum, Sept. 4), it's good to watch LDS Conference because one won't see "scraggly-haired, tattooed" people.

From what I have witnessed in conferences for the past few years, the brethren have rarely missed an opportunity to tell gay people exactly what the church thinks of them. I know that in some people's distorted logic, this is "true" kindness, but my gay friends don't feel the warmth. It feels more like hatred to them.
