POCATELLO, Idaho — The Utah Valley State soccer team fell 2-0 to Idaho State on Thursday. The Wolverines surrendered both goals in the first half, the first one coming on a penalty kick from Mountain View High graduate Natalie Graham in the 20th minute. Sixteen minutes later, Lacey Pearson scored off a corner kick to give the Bengals the 2-0 edge.
Utah Valley did outshoot Idaho State 13-11. Rebecca Petersen and Carolyn Theurer each had three shot attempts. Tasha Bell played the second half in goal and came up with two saves.
The loss dropped Utah Valley State to 0-3 while Idaho State improved to 1-4. The Wolverines hope to pick up their first win of the season on Saturday at 1 p.m. against California-Baptist. All students get in free with ID.
