Lester A. Taylor 10/2/1921~1/13/2006 Lester A. Taylor, age 84, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2006, at his home with his family at his side. Lester was born October 2, 1921 in Salt Lake City, UT to Melvin Taylor and Sophorina Wilson. He married Virginia White on Aug. 21, 1939. They had four children: Claudia (Paul) Arnold, Lester (Pamela) Taylor, Gayle (Grant) Earnshaw and Michael (Christine) Taylor. Lester and Virginia divorced 1965. He married Larena Jensen Jan. 21, 1966 (deceased) and assisted in rearing her four children Jerrie (Keith) Hales, both deceased, DeRay (Pat) Jensen, Trenna (Bob) Ballou, Venna Jeanne (Lynn) Burton. Survived by numerous grandchildren. Lester was part of the 'greatest generation' having served in World War II in Okinawa and the Philippines where he was awarded the bronze star for bravery, and two purple hearts. Lester was an upbeat happy person who loved people, horses, and the out of doors. Lester was a High Priest in the LDS Church. He will be missed by all who know and loved him. Funeral services for Lester will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Valley View 1st Ward, 2245 East 3900 South, Salt Lake City, UT. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT and at the Valley View 1st Ward on Thursday morning from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to the services.
