SWIMMING: The University of Utah women's swimming and diving team takes on Colorado State on Saturday at Ute Natatorium. The meet will begin at 5 p.m. and will consist of 16 events. The Utah women's team beat New Mexico and TCU over the weekend to improve to 5-1 overall and remain undefeated in conference dual meets at 4-0. The women currently are the only undefeated team in the MWC with BYU falling to TCU over the weekend. Colorado State holds a 4-1 conference mark with its sole loss at the hands of TCU in Fort Collins. Colorado State has not competed since Dec. 3, 2005, when the Rams beat Air Force and San Diego State in a double dual meet. CSU will compete against BYU on Friday night.

Eastern Utah

BASKETBALL: At Rangely, Colo., the College of Eastern Utah swept Colorado Northwestern on Saturday. Michael McCrary scored 27 points off the bench, including three 3-pointers, to lead the CEU men (11-5, 3-3) to a 107-84 victory. Tate Sorensen made 10 of 11 field-goal attempts, scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. The CEU women (11-6, 2-4) won 99-51, behind five players who scored in double figures: Jenny Fiso, Elisha Harris, Whitney Fardig, Kaylynn Fager and Staci Little.

Utah State

GYMNASTICS: Utah State's Jessica Parenti has been named the Western Athletic Conference gymnast of the week, the league office announced Tuesday. Parenti, a senior from Glendora, Calif., won the all-around title for

the second-straight week with a score of 39.250, as Utah State placed second in a meet last week against eighth-ranked LSU. The Aggies are now 2-4 overall, and 0-2 in the WAC.


BASKETBALL: The Salt Lake Community College men's and women's basketball team each lost its home game Saturday against Southern Idaho. The men's team fell to 13-3 overall and 4-2 in the Scenic West conference with the 101-96 overtime loss. The SLCC women (12-5, 3-3) lost to No. 13 Southern Idaho 73-67. Southern Idaho is 6-0 in women's conference play.

Dixie State

BASKETBALL: At Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, the Dixie men's and women's basketball teams lost games Saturday to North Idaho. Moleni Taukiuveau led the Rebels with 23 points and nine rebounds in their 81-62 loss. The Dixie men are 12-6, 3-3. The Dixie women (10-8, 4-2) were led by Jessica Carver's 14 points in their 85-69 loss.
