OREM — After playing seven of nine games on the road, the Utah Valley State men's basketball team returns for a six-game homestand beginning tonight against North Dakota State.
The Wolverines are 6-11 and coming off a 72-61 loss at Albany last Thursday. Ben Devoe leads the Wolverines in scoring at 11.4 points per game and in rebounding at 5.6. He scored 15 points against Albany. Matt Peterson is second in scoring at 10.8 points per game.
This is the second meeting between the Wolverines and the Bison (10-8). On Jan. 5, North Dakota State beat Utah Valley State, 62-51, in Fargo, N.D. Tika Wesley led Utah Valley with 11 points.
North Dakota State is coming off an 87-63 home win over UMKC on Tuesday. The Bison have won five of their last six games.
Ben Woodside leads North Dakota State in scoring at 17.3.
Three other Bison players are scoring in double figures. Andre Smith averages 13.3 points and brings down a team-best 7.4 rebounds, while Brett Winkelman is netting 12.3 points and Mike Nelson 11.9 points.
"North Dakota State is a physical team that beat us up in Fargo," Utah Valley coach Dick Hunsaker said. "They are a very aggressive team offensively."
