Police are unsure if a driver died as the result of an accident Thursday or if she was dead before it happened.

Witnesses told police that the woman ran a red light at 2700 South and 900 East about 6:45 p.m.

Her vehicle was hit broad-side by another car that knocked her car onto the front lawn of a nearby home, according to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Dave Askerlund.

He said the woman may have suffered a heart attack and could have been dead when she ran the light.

Two passengers in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The intersection and adjoining roads were closed for several hours as crews cleared the scene and investigated the accident.
