New mission presidents

Eight more mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency to begin service about July 1, 2006. Assignments will be announced later. The new leaders are:

Joseph Samuel Cannon, 61, Blackfoot 7th Ward, Blackfoot Idaho Stake; gospel doctrine teacher; former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, high councilor, ward Young Men president and missionary in the East Central States Mission. Owner/founder of Cannon Builders Inc. Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Alan and Mary Parkinson Cannon. Married Jeanne Kay Jones, four children.

A stake Relief Society president, she is a former Sunday School teacher, ward Relief Society president and ward Young Women president. Secretary. Born in Logan, Utah, to Venal and Maurine Pickett Jones.

Steven Grant Dyreng, 58, Woods Cross 7th Ward, Wood Cross Utah Stake; former stake president, ward Young Men president, high councilor, stake mission president, bishop and missionary in the Southern States Mission. Institute director. Born in Manti, Utah, to Grant Milton and Ada Victor Bunderson Dyreng. Married Elizabeth Dorothy Roberts, four children.

A teacher development instructor and institute adviser, she is a former gospel doctrine teacher, ward Primary pianist, ward and stake Relief Society president and seminary teacher. Born in Tremonton, Utah, to James LeRoy and Eileen Dorothy Williams Roberts.

Edward Cloyd England, 63, Afton 1st Ward, Afton Wyoming Stake; former stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, elders quorum president and missionary in the Southern Australia Mission. Farmer and retired vice president of marketing for Williams Field Services. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Cloyd LaVell and Zelda Lorraine Hunter England. Married Jo Ann Edmunds, five children.

She is a former counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, gospel doctrine teacher, ward enrichment leader, counselor in a ward Young Women presidency and ward organist. Born in Winnemucca, Nev., to Kenneth Gerald and Josie Grace West Edmunds.

Brad William Farnsworth, 51, Edgemont 3rd Ward, Provo Utah Edgemont South Stake; former stake president, ward executive secretary, stake executive secretary, bishop, high councilor and missionary in the Argentina Rosario Mission. Administrative vice president at BYU. Born in Monterey, Calif., to William Dewey and Glenona Robison Farnsworth. Married Deborah Jeanne Hulme, five children.

A ward Relief Society president, she is a former ward Young Women secretary, ward Primary chorister, counselor in ward Relief Society and Young Women presidencies and ward Young women president. Born in Albany, Calif., to David Kay and Barbara Jean Hulme.

Wayne Blair Garff, 63, Westchester 1st Ward, Westchester New York Stake; high councilor; former counselor in the New York New York City South mission presidency, bishop, seminary teacher and missionary in the Central States Mission. Investment management sales. Born San Francisco, Calif., to Wayne Brimhall and Jeanette Parry Garff. Married Suzanne Jacob, six children.

A stake Young Women president, she is a former ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women adviser, stake Young Women camp director and seminary teacher. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph Irvin and Lucille Powelson Jacob.

Robert Lowe Goodrich, 61, Fairview Heights Ward, O'Fallon Illinois Stake; former ward Young Men president, counselor in the Missouri St. Louis Mission presidency, Scoutmaster, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and missionary in the West Spanish American Mission. Retired news reporter. Born in Vernal, Utah, to Lowe and Rhea Roberts Goodrich. Married Linda Faye Barnes, two children.

A ward Primary teacher, she is a former ward Relief Society president, stake Primary president, stake missionary, counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency and stake Young Women president. Retired school teacher. Born Morehead City, N.C., to William Langhorn and Lois Brown Shingleton Barnes.

Judd Delahay Morgan, 65, Riverview 6th Ward, Draper Utah River View Stake; gospel doctrine teacher; former counselor in a bishopric, Aaronic priesthood adviser, high councilor and missionary in the Brazilian South Mission. Retired vice president of Student Services at Salt Lake Community College. Born in Nephi, Utah, to Fred Delahay and Ora Lucille Judd Morgan. Married Pauline Hazel Thornton, five children.

A gospel doctrine teacher, she is a former ward Relief Society president, ward Relief Society teacher, ward Young Women president, stake Relief Society secretary and ward Primary president. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Virl William and Vera Maxine Poulsen Thornton.

Paul Richard Woodland, 55, North Logan 14th Ward, North Logan Utah Stake; counselor in the Utah State University First Stake presidency; former counselor in a stake presidency, ward mission leader, ward Young Men president, bishop and missionary in the France Belgium Mission. Former president of Hooked on Phonics. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Darryl J. and Blanche Marie Holland Woodland. Married Marilyn Stevens, two children.

A temple ordinance worker, she is a former counselor in a ward Relief Society presidency, ward Young Women president and counselor in a stake Young Women presidency. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Henry Harrington and Ruth Johnson Stevens.
