BERARD BUSTED

Columbus defenseman Bryan Berard, who tested positive for a banned substance in a pre-Olympic test, accepted a two-year suspension from international play, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said Friday. The test wasn't part of NHL testing, meaning he won't be subject to league discipline.

TRADES

The Chicago Blackhawks traded defenseman Anton Babchuk and a fourth-round draft pick in 2007 on Friday to the Carolina Hurricanes for defenseman Danny Richmond and a fourth rounder in this year's draft. ... The Phoenix Coyotes traded center Petr Nedved to the Philadelphia Flyers for defenseman Dennis Seidenberg. The trade also gave the Flyers the option of swapping fourth-round draft choices with the Coyotes at this year's entry draft and third-round choices with the Coyotes in next year's entry draft.

Dallas' Marty Turco gave up four goals in the first period and was pulled for the third time in his last six starts as Dallas lost 6-3 to Tampa Bay.
