Obituary: Melvin Lloyd Galbraith

Melvin Lloyd Galbraith 1922~ 2006 Our loving father and grandfather, Melvin "Scotty" Galbraith passed away Jan. 29, 2006. Mel was born Sept. 16, 1922 to James Miles Miller Galbraith and Annie Bengta Johnson. He married Mary Viola Twitchell on Jan. 19, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away on March 6, 1952. He later married Twila Dawn Heugly on Dec. 9, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mel proudly served as a "Sea Bee" in the United States Navy during World War II, spending time in Guam, Japan and Alaska. He worked for over 35 years at Hill Air Force Base, in Clearfield, as a civil engineer. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Viola and their infant daughter Mary Kathleen, second wife Twila Dawn and 11 brothers and sisters. Survived by daughters Heather (Thomas) Langston, Hollie Tanner, Lark Miller and 10 grandchildren. One of our Dad's greatest pleasures was treating his children and grandchildren to dinner. In lieu of flowers, our wish is for you to take your family to dinner in his memory. Funeral services will be held on Wed., Feb. 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr. Friends and family may call Tues. from 6-8 p.m. or one hour prior to the service. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
