Obituary: Kathryn L. Winters

Kathryn L. Winters 1951 ~ 2006 Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend Kathryn Louise Winters returned home to our Heavenly Father January 29, 2006 after a long ongoing illness. Kathy was born February 26, 1951 in Oxnard, CA to George LeRoy Winters and Zina Emma Sawyer. She came from a large loving family, brothers Gary, Russell, and Craig; sisters, Judy, Brenda and Carolyn. She had two beautiful children, Jeffrey Randall Smit and Jeanene Lishelle Hawley; grandchildren, Carolyn Emma, Jeffrey Wyatt, Elizabeth Clairese Smit and James Roberts and Marcus Hardwick. Due to her large family she is survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews. She was a great cook and loved barbeques. She did catering early in her career. Then turned to law enforcement with the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office. She was a lover of life and the outdoors. She liked to do gardening and loved to go camping and fishing. In the summer you would always find her in the swimming pool. She went to West High School where she made many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her life partner of seven years and longtime friend Kevin Wageman. She loved her children and her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew, loved and cared for her. Graveside services will be held Thurs. Feb. 2, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. A viewing will be held from11:30-12:30 p.m. prior to the graveside at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple.
