Obituary: Erma Louise Mitchell Roundy

Erma Louise Mitchell Roundy 1931 ~ 2006 KAYSVILLE - Erma Louise Mitchell Roundy, 74, passed away quietly, surrounded by her children, on Friday, Jan. 27, 2006 from a sudden illness. She was born April 24, 1931 in Marion, Utah to Clifford L. and Florence Irene Mitchell. She married Lyle Roundy on March 28, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Erma was reared and educated in Marion, Utah, where she attended South Summit High School. She has resided in Kaysville for the last 50 years. Erma was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served dutifully in all the callings and assignments given to her. She enjoyed her job as a tutor with the Davis County School District for over 20 years, where she touched the lives of many children. Her family was the center of her life. She has served as a loving Matriarch of her family since the passing of her eternal sweetheart over 15 years ago. Material things were never of importance to her, her greatest joy came from spending time with and participating in the family traditions that she helped to create. She was considered an angel by many. Her life was full of charity and she was loved by all who knew her. Erma is survived by five sons and four daughters, Alan (Julie), Kaysville; Deborah Randolph, Layton; Michael (Madelyn), Kaysville; Mary Ellen "Penny" (Norman) Anderson, Layton; David (Lisa), Layton; Aaron (Mechelle), Farmington; Sharon ( Richard) Allen, Kaysville; Rebecca (Michael) Mueller, Layton; Shad (Tricia), Syracuse; 39 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister Norma Clegg; three brothers, Sam (Edna) Mitchell; Lynn (Joyce) Mitchell; Philip Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Gailey Park Second Ward Chapel, 50 W. 300 South, Kaysville. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
