Four members of the Utah Symphony woodwind section will perform in concert today at 3 p.m. in Westminster College's new Vieve Gore Concert Hall.

Assistant principal flute Lisa Byrnes, principal oboe Robert Stephenson, principal clarinet Tad Calcara and principal bassoon Lori Wike recently formed a group they call "Three Fish and a Scorpion." There is no musical significance attached to the name — it just refers to their astronomical signs.

The program runs the gamut of woodwind music, from Mozart to Elliott Carter — with an emphasis on 20th-century works. On the program is Mozart's Andante in F major, K. 616, in an arrangement for wind quartet; Eugene Bozza's "Trois pieces pour une musique de nuit;" Carter's "8 Etudes and a Fantasy for Woodwind Quartet;" Igor Stravinsky's "Pastorale;" Arthur Berger's Quartet in C major; and Jean Francaix's "Quattour."
