A woman hired to work as a manager of a Salt Lake clinic was charged in 3rd District Court Wednesday, accused of writing checks to herself totaling more than $50,000.
Between August 2003 and August 2005, the 37-year-old Herriman woman wrote herself more than 50 checks on two separate bank accounts belonging to a doctor who owned the clinic, according to court documents.
Court documents also state the woman obtained and used a Visa card in the doctor's name and without his authorization. She apparently used the card for $2,000 worth of carpet that was installed in her home two years ago, according to the documents.
The woman faces two counts of second-degree felony theft, three counts of forgery and one count for unlawful acquisition of a financial transaction card, all third-degree felonies.
