Members of the Smeltzer family show their excitement as they view their new home, which was provided by the Heart2Home Foundation, on Tuesday in Sandy. From left are David Smeltzer, getting a big hug from daughter Sarah, daughter Breann, mother Vickie, Angie Aguilar, who designed the house, and another daughter, Emie. The Heart2Home Foundation, based in Utah, sent the Smeltzers and their eight children on a two-week vacation while construction workers and volunteers tore down the home Oct. 9 and spent the next 14 days rebuilding it into a 4,300-square-foot house, complete with handicap accessibility for Smeltzer, who suffers from leukoencephalopathy, a rare disease with symptoms similar to multiple sclerosis.
