Obituary: Dona Darlene Downing Larson

Dona Darlene Downing Larson 1930 ~ 2006 Was born the only child of Agnes Molly Steffen and Hardy K. Downing on July 9, 1930 in Salt Lake City Utah. She gently fell asleep and passed on October 4, 2006. Darlene attended West High School then went to work for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph and then Grand Central Stores. Later she returned to Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph and retired from U. S. West. She loved to roller-skate where she met her husband Garold Griffin Larson, married on March 17, 1947. They remained married for 57 years. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, oldest son Griffin Larson Jr. and grandson Bryan Cody Boyce. She is survived by her daughter Leslie Lynn Larson, two sons, Ladd Larson, Lane Leland Larson, nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, camping, being with her family and also family history. Darlene loved her loyal pets: Misty, Penny and Tillie, Louie and Molly. A special thanks to S. L. Regional ICU for the great and devoted care they gave and the kindness and love they showed the family. Also a special love and thanks to grandson Justin Larson and Sherry Alexander. We love you both. Thanks Again. Funeral Services will be Monday October 9, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 S. 2300 E. Visitation will be Sunday October 8th at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 E. 100 S. from 7-9 p.m. and 1 hour prior at the church. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
