Marie Stewart Lewis 1914 ~ 2006 Marie Stewart Lewis, age 92, passed away on October 6, 2006. Marie was born on August 30, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frank Patterson Stewart and Agnes Birmingham Stewart. Marie graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. She married David Thomas Lewis on September 10, 1938. He preceded her in death in September of 1983. She was an avid bridge player and played tournament bridge for many years, obtaining Life Master status in the American Contract Bridge League. She was a member of The Salt Lake Country Club. Marie had a feisty spirit, which helped her "keep going", in spite of her, many medical problems over the past few years. She is survived by her sons Kent (Sally), David (Patty), and Frank (Georgie); seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Park Lane Manor, St Joseph's Villa, and Care Source Hospice for their love and kindness in helping care for Marie the last few years. Friends may join the family in honor of Marie on Monday, October 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary located at 372 E. 100 South. There will be a family graveside service on Tuesday. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the David T. Lewis Judge in Residence program at the University of Utah Law School or the Utah Lions Eye Bank.
