Katherine Mary Haslam Lowe 1917 ~ 2006 Katherine Mary Haslam Lowe, 89, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away November 12, 2006, in St. George, UT. She was born January 1, 1917, in Salt Lake City to Lester James "Jim" and Katherine Maren Skow Haslam. She married Clifford Shelby Lowe in Salt Lake City, UT, on January 2, 1935; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Katherine was an artist, specializing in ceramics and watercolor. She enjoyed sports, particularly baseball. She was an active member of the LDS Church and coached and worked in the youth programs. She was devoted to her sweetheart, Shelby, and family. Katherine is survived by her four children, Max (Laura) of Ivins, UT, Jim of Pittsburg, CA, Kaylene (Robert) Thurston of Saratoga, CA, and Scott (Kay) of Bentonville, AK; eight grandchildren, Sherri Orton of Portland, OR, Kathy Thomas of Grayslake, IL, Laurie Moore of Salt Lake City, UT, Michael Lowe of Herriman, UT, Kristi Shearer of Grants, NM, Todd Lowe of West Jordan, UT, Derek Lowe of West Jordan, UT and Zak Lowe of Minneapolis, MN; seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and daughter-in-law, Faye Willey Lowe. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Nov. 17th at 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where a Visitation will be held Thursday evening 7 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday. The family wishes to express their appreciation to "Her Girls", as she called them, at the Ridge View Gardens Assisted Living in St. George, UT, for their kind care and personal attention.
