PROVO — A man who police say was breaking windows and threatening people with a baseball bat remains in the Utah County Jail.

The 27-year-old man called a Provo couple last Thursday and said he was coming over to break the man's head open, according to a police report filed in 4th District Court.

The couple, who live near 300 South and 700 East, tried to leave when the man came over armed with a bat.

As they started to drive away, the man smashed out the rear window of the couple's vehicle, causing nearly $600 in damage, according to the police report.

The man was located at his stepfather's house and taken into custody for investigation of aggravated assault, criminal mischief and telephone harassment.

He is being held on $10,000 cash or bond bail and will appear in court on Monday at 8:30 a.m.
