The race for Salt Lake City mayor has already lost one of its candidates.
Though the election is still a year away, 10 candidates had said they plan to run. Now, one of them, 24-year-old college student Nick Bryson, says he is out of the running.
Bryson is a resident of Holladay who said in July that he planned to move to Salt Lake City so he would be eligible to vie for the capital city's executive seat.
However, when contacted by the Deseret Morning News this week, Bryson said he had not yet moved to Salt Lake City, so he no longer plans to run for mayor.
Candidates must live in Salt Lake City at least 12 months before the election, which means the residency deadline for the 2007 election was Nov. 6.
