Josephine "Jo" Draper Miller Ogden, Utah Josephine "Jo" Draper Miller, 87, died October 28, 2006 in Ogden, Utah. She was born January 18, 1919 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Terry Parshall Draper and Florence Ester Beckham. She married Edward L. Miller, Sr. November 20, 1940 in American Fork; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 20, 1956. Jo was a member of the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission to the Honolulu Hawaii Mission and a mission to the Family History Library and the Church Records Dept. She served in many church callings; she was Relief Society President in the North Ogden 2nd and 8th Wards, taught in Young Women's, Primary and she especially enjoyed family history. She loved home crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting and quilting. Josephine was very civic minded. She worked with the Planning Commission to help conceptualize and build the North View Senior Citizen Center, and served on the Board of Directors of the North View Branch of Weber County Library. She was a member of the North Ogden Women's Civic League. She served as an election judge for many years and was a member of the Children's Hour Literary Club, the FI-WO- CA Literary Club, the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, was secretary of the PTA Weber County School District and was active in the PTA Adult Education. She also donated time to the Deseret Industries. After losing her eyesight, Josephine diligently studied Braille and learned to live independently and she even continued to crochet, knit and quilt as a blind person. She loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Will) Lefevre, Maple Grove, MN, Marcia (David) Parker, Cairo, Egypt, Dennis (Cindy) Miller, Layton, Marilyn (Dale) Nye, Ogden, Douglas (Le) Miller, Ogden, Roger Miller; Ogden; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; step-mother, Lillian Draper; siblings, Nellie Milligan, Marjorie Conder, Terry Draper, and Tom Draper. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son Eddie; two grandsons and two great-grandsons; five brothers; one sister and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Sat., November 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rockcliff 4th Ward, 300 Iowa. Family and friends may call on Friday, November 3, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden and Saturday prior to services at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment at the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
