Robert V. Pett Beloved Husband, Father, and Friend Robert Victor Pett, 84, passed away November 23, 2006, in Salt Lake City. He was born September 5, 1922 in Eureka, UT to Victor Gladstone and Artie Matilda Brady Pett. He married Joyce Chappell September 23, 1949 in the Manti Temple. Bob served in the U.S. Navy prior to starting his construction career building homes, working on buildings at the BYU campus, and the Utah State Veteran's Hospital. He went to work for Kennecott Copper Corp. in 1951. In June of 1984 he retired after 33 years of service. While at Kennecott, he was an officer of the union and a negotiator. He had a special love for his family and truly enjoyed family gatherings. He loved to travel throughout the Western U.S., especially Colorado and Southern Utah. He enjoyed camping and fishing with all of his family. He was a loving father and very proud of the accomplishments of his family. He enjoyed people and was a friend to all, and was considered the perfect gentleman. Survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Mark R., Cheryl P. Varoz; six grandchildren, Teri, Kyle, Michael, Brandy, Chelsea, Gabrielle; three sisters and one brother, Betty (Martin) Buenger, Elaine (Conrad) Nielsen, Helen (Norman) Miller, Lynn F. (Kathleen). Preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Franke; brothers-in-law, Rheem Franke, Martin Buenger. The family would like to thank the staff of the Utah Veteran's Nursing facility and Hospice for their loving care. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday November 29, 2006, 11 a.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., where friends and family may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
