Marguerite Petersen "Muggs" On November 19, 2006, our precious Muggs slipped peacefully away, as always holding the hand of her sweetheart, Val. Muggs was born March 15, 1941 to Clifford and Lavon Markham in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was christened Marguerite, but after seeing her "bring it on, can do" attitude, her big brother, Delbert, nicknamed her Muggs. And Muggs she was! She married her soul mate, Val Petersen, June 2, 1959 and they've been inseparable ever since. Our Muggs lived a full and exciting life. She was a travel agent for 16 years so journeyed all over the world. She had an inquisitive mind and was always thirsty to learn something new. She loved to read and always had a few books by her side. Her three grandbabies were the loves of her life, and she instilled a love of life and travel in each of them. Muggs loved to cook and shared her recipes willingly. Over the years countless friends, relatives, and strangers were welcome guests in her home. In her final years, Muggs went back to college to take art classes and became an accomplished artist. She is survived by her husband, Val; son, Dean Petersen; daughter, Tawny Christensen (Rick); grandchildren, Caitlin, Colter and Jodi; three sisters, Pat Harris (Dick), Jeanette Fahrni (AI), Diane Olson (Dave); favorite brother, Delbert Markham (Julie); and a host of very special nieces and nephews. Friends and loved ones are invited to join a celebration of Muggs' life Saturday, December 2nd, at 1 p.m. in the VIP Room at the E-Center (2200 West 3200 South). At her request she was cremated. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to any Leukemia Research Foundation.
