Frank Talldog Duran Oglala Lakota Lt. Col USAF Retired Frank Talldog Duran, age 70, passed away November 4, 2006 in Salt Lake City, of cancer. He was born October 19, 1936 in Gardner, Colorado to John B. and Lucaria Duran. Frank served over 20 years as an officer and a pilot in the US Air Force. He served two tours in Viet Nam. He went on to fly for Western Airlines and later Delta Airlines for a total of 28 years. He then returned to his roots, ranching in South Dakota. He was president of Stewards of the Range, a property rights organization. His passions were horses, working the outdoors and flying. Survived by his wife Adrian Duran; children Nichole Ray (Ken), Jocelyn Williams (Mark), Jason Duran, Daniel Simmons (Amber) and Kristle Simmons; grandchildren Samantha, Adam and Alex Ray, Ashley and Johnathon Duran, Jaren, Kaden and Brayden Simmons; brothers Tony and Jim Duran; and sisters Rose Gutirrez and Bernice Trujillo. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where family and friends may visit Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to the service. Interment in Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
