RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — A twin-engine plane owned by a Utah company crashed Friday with a load of mail.
The pilot was trying to land the Beechcraft 99 about 2:30 a.m. but missed the runway by seven miles and landed in a pasture, authorities said. The pilot, the only person on board, was taken to a hospital.
The plane is intact but the nose is bent upward, said Mason Short, Rapid City Regional Airport manager.

Short said the pilot called air-traffic controllers after the crash. The plane is owned by Alpine Air, based in Provo.
