Ardith Sheffield Burton 1930 ~ 2006 I, Ardith Burton, knowing my time is short due to cancer, have decided to write my own obituary. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, December 6, 1930 to goodly parents, Heber Devern and Ella Blanche Bingham Sheffield, who have preceded me in death. I was raised with seven wonderful siblings, namely: John Dee (Helen) Sheffield, James Lloyd (Virginia) Sheffield, Ray (Annette) Sheffield, Dale (Colleen) Sheffield, Marlene (Bob) Donaldson, Janice (Vern) Grow, Kent (Nora) Sheffield, and one special cousin, who is like a sister, Shanna (Gary) Blake. I Graduated from South High School in 1948. I was married January 22, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS. Temple to my sweetheart and eternal companion, Blaine Burton. We were blessed with 13 children, whom we love dearly. They are: Greg (Susan) Burton, Kerry (Betty) Burton, Tona (Steve) Leoncini, Deena (Rick) DeGrey, Dirk (Janet) Burton, Fara (Jim) Asay, Trent (Tawna) Burton, Gina (Toby) Christopherson, Maria Burton, Tricia (Greg) Marotz, Carla "Joseph Knudson" Burton. I was preceded in death by one son, Garr Burton; and one daughter, Darci Burton. We have two special fosterdaughters who lived with us for a few years. They are: Carmen (Kent) Gale, and Carmella (Bruce) Hearle. We have been blessed with 39 grandchildren, 15 great-grand children, 11 foster grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren. I have had the opportunity to serve in almost every calling that a sister can hold in the ward and some stake board callings. I also served as a receptionist at the Jordan River Temple for several years. My husband and I served two missions here at home. One was full-time with the Substance Abuse Recovery Group and the other was part-time with Employment service. We have been blessed with many good friends and neighbors here in Kearns where we have lived for more than 50 years. I would like to thank Hospice for their help in making life more comfortable, our family for all they do and their love, my dear husband for his willing and loving help; he does so much. I love and appreciate him; and especially for my Savior for blessing me with the help I need right when I need it the most. I love him so much. "Good-bye all until we can be together again for eternity." Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at the Kearns South Stake Center, 5905 South 4000 West. A viewing will be held Friday, December 29, 2006, 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 9-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The LDS Church Humanitarian, Missionary or Education fund
