BOULDER, Colo. — A storm that dumped more than 2 feet of snow in the foothills near Denver led to the cancellation of Saturday's men's basketball between Colorado and Texas Christian, Colorado's second straight game wiped out because of weather.
Colorado also canceled its women's game Saturday against Houston.
"After all the efforts we made and with extensive communication with both institutions, we were extremely disappointed that our opponents on Saturday elected not to make their respective trips to Boulder," said Tom McGann, Colorado's director of game management and operations.
Denver International Airport remained open through a snow storm that hit Denver on Thursday and was expected to linger over the weekend. Airlines canceled hundreds of flights Friday because of the storm.
McGann said the highway to Boulder is open and the campus had been cleared in preparation for the men's and women's basketball games.
