Black inmates talk to clergy and community activists Thursday about racial clashes at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, 40 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Los Angeles County Sheriff Leroy Baca invited the groups to the facility to help mediate problems. All seven Los Angeles County jails remained on lockdown Thursday as another brawl broke out between Hispanic and black inmates, continuing a week of rioting that has injured scores of inmates and killed one.
