Mary Adella Wood 1926 ~ 2006 Born August 11, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Mary Isabell Wright and James William Wood. Passed away February 11, 2006. Della lived her life well and precisely as she wanted. She was a loving, caring person, loyal to family, friends, and employers. Della was employed by Continental Bank and it's incarnations for more than 40 years and loved her work. Della played professional softball on the Salt Lake Shamrock's Team in the '50's. She was a champion bowler, avid golfer, and enjoyed traveling with her friends. Her joy in recent years was her family and friends. She derived great pleasure from "needlin'" or working count-ed cross stitch. Her work hangs in many homes from Utah to Alaska. Della was preceded in death by her parents; and two baby brothers, Jay and Jimmy. She is survived by sister, Elissa Stevens, her children and grandchildren; brother, Elder L (Son-ny) Wood, his children and grandchildren; and her uncle and good friend, Charles Wright of Boise. She leaves numerous friends/extended family in Midvale who helped and looked after her. We would like to thank all of them, Scotty Woodcock and Dr. Margaret Lunt for their care and concern.
