PARK CITY — Police in Park City are stepping up their efforts to crack down on prostitution, arresting a half-dozen people in the past month on sexual solicitation charges.

The latest arrests came last week, when police arrested a woman and a man they described as her "pimp" in a sting at a Park City-area condominium. Officers from the Wasatch Back Narcotics Enforcement team became aware of the two during a drug investigation, Park City Police Lt. Rick Ryan said.

"A price was negotiated over the phone. He brought one of his girls up. When he arrived with her, we confirmed the price, exchanged the money and arrested him and her," Ryan said Monday.

A 24-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were booked into the Summit County Jail on investigation of prostitution. Police said the man had been aggressively marketing his business in the Park City area, allegedly recruiting several women to work for him by splitting the proceeds.

This is the second prostitution bust Park City police have made in recent weeks.
