William Harvey Haskin 1936 ~ 2006 William Harvey Haskin- Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away February 19th, 2006 from natural causes. He was born to Robert Everett Haskin and Aletha Ione Morin on Nov 25, 1936 in Haines Oregon. He was raised in Baker, Oregon and graduated from Baker High School in 1955 where he excelled in sports. He worked in the lumber industry while attending Ricks College and Brigham Young University. He did graduate work at the University of Utah. He was also a member of the National Guard. He settled in Salt Lake City where he met and married his wife of 28 years, Karen Elsa Dean. He taught school for 39 years starting as an Assistant Baseball coach at Cyprus High School. He spent the rest of his career teaching Geography at Kennedy Jr High where he was famous for his Elvis impersonations. He loved teaching and he loved making a difference in the lives of his students. He also loved traveling and took many wonderful cross country trips. He enjoyed sports and loved to have friendly squabbles over which teams were the best. He also loved his sports cars. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an active member of the LDS Church having been converted by the missionaries when he was 16. He served many callings and was a High Priest at the time of his death. He is survived by his two children, daughter Stacie Michelle Sipes, (son-in-law Darren Sipes) and his son Jarrod William Haskin; his sister Beverly Hendrickson; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert D Haskin, a sister Janice McNair and a niece Natalie Horne. He was a kind and gentle man who made friends easily and he is loved deeply by his family. He will be forever missed by those who knew him. We know he is in a better place with our Heavenly Father and we will be with him again. We are so proud to have been part of this wonderful man's life. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Herriman 5th Ward, 4080 West 12600 South. Friends may call on Friday, February 24, at the Ward from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also prior to services from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens of the Valley, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy.
