PROVO — "Your Voice Can Make a Difference" is the theme of the third annual Women in Leadership Community Service Conference.

Annette Paxman Bowen, author of several books and short stories, will give the keynote address.

Four breakout sessions will follow her address, including "Our Legacy of Women Leaders" taught by Susan Easton Black, Brigham Young University professor of church history; "Political Involvement 101" taught by Raylene Ireland, Provo City director of communications; "Governmental Relations; Community Involvement 101" taught by Kye Miner, Intermountain Healthcare community relations director; and "Professional Careers" organized by Eileen Crane, Utah Valley State College instructor and currently a BYU law school student.

As part of the lunch activities, performers from the SCERA Center for the Arts will entertain, and two outstanding women from Utah County and three outstanding high school senior girls will be honored.

Luncheon speakers will be Kim Power Stilson and Robbie Lawler, co-hosts for the local radio show, "Healthy, Wealthy, Wow Reality Radio for Women who Believe in the Beauty of a Balanced Life."

The conference is for women of all ages and the registration fee includes breakfast and lunch.

Sponsored guests include three high school senior girls and an adviser from each of the 17 high schools in Utah County.

Registration and breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. in the Moot Court room, with the conference beginning at 8:30 a.m. To register for the conference, please send payment to Bonneville UniServe, 39 S. 400 West, Orem, UT 84058 by Feb. 23.

Women in Leadership was established in 1993 as a nonpartisan forum that explores current issues and supports and prepares women for leadership in volunteer, appointed or elected positions on community, county or state levels. The organization believes that women provide a necessary balance and perspective to all decision-making bodies. Membership is made up of women of all ages from all walks of life.
