The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Provo Craft & Novelty Inc. of Spanish Fork on Thursday announced the voluntary recall of metal charms Provo Craft imported.

The commission said the Art Accentz and Changlz charms contain high levels of lead, although no incidents or injuries have been reported with the recalled charms.

The commission said consumers should stop using the charms immediately. The recall involves about 29,000 of the charms, which are silver-color metal shapes such as flowers, bugs, pumpkins and picture frames that were sold as decorations for craft projects such as scrapbooks, home decor and jewelrymaking.

The China-made charms were sold at craft and scrapbook retail outlets from April 2004 through July 2005 and at Pamida Stores from January through April 2005 for about $3.
