LAYTON — Police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old baby inside an apartment Wednesday morning.
Layton Assistant Police Chief Craig Gibson said it appears the infant may have been accidentally suffocated while sleeping in her parents' bed. Police were called to an apartment at 301 N. Main St. just before 6 a.m. Wednesday. The baby was taken to Davis Hospital and Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
"Whether it was mom or dad rolling over on her or a pillow, we don't know. There's no indication it was anything but an accident," Gibson said.
