PROVO — Former students, employees and neighbors of Timpanogos Elementary are being sought for interviews for a school history project.
Current upper-grade students are producing a multimedia history of the school for a contest that has an April deadline. The project also is important because the school may soon be torn down and replaced by a larger building on the same site, pending voter approval of a bond issuance in June.
Students will use a video recorder and audiotape for interviews and put the information on CD-ROM.
Timpanogos Elementary School was built in 1892 and enlarged twice before 1938, when it was torn down and rebuilt on an adjacent lot. The current school yard includes the site of the original school.
