Pedestrian is struck by vehicle

A shoe lies in the middle of State Street near 400 South on Friday as police officers investigate an accident involving a pedestrian. Salt Lake City Police Lt. Dave Askerlund said a woman was crossing against the traffic signal and was struck by a vehicle making a left turn shortly after 3 p.m. The woman received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The accident caused traffic to be diverted for a short time.
