For the sixth consecutive year, the University of Utah School of Medicine's physician residency in diagnostic radiology is ranked No. 1 in North America by the American Board of Radiology.
The group ranks 187 programs for the five-year period from 2001-2005. In that time, every U. radiology resident passed both the written and oral exams for certification on the first try.
The U.'s ranking and reputation have made slots in the residency program highly sought after. This year, 313 people applied for five residence slots.
The U. also has some of the best imaging technology available, including an open MRI for people who are severely overweight or claustrophobic.
