Lourence "Laura" Beuk Dame 1923 ~ 2006 Laura Dame was born in Hilversum, The Netherlands on June 4, 1923. Her Father-in-Heaven chose to call her home February 1, 2006. She leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Paul Dame, along with six children, 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Having survived tuberculosis and World War II, she immigrated to America in 1953 with her husband and two children after joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Holland. They settled in Utah in Salt Lake City where they learned to speak English and raised a responsible and grateful family. Laura served in many church callings, including two missions with her husband: one in the Netherlands and one in Tallahassee, FL. She is an example and friend to all who knew her. May she always be remembered for the refrains she often recited to her children and husband, "If you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me," and "If you're not Dutch you're not much." Laura is survived by her husband Paul Dame, children Louise Dame, Anneke (Ernest) Robison, John (Susan) Dame, Tina (Doug) Rino, Ellen (Michael) Bradley, Mark (Jane) Dame. Preceded in death by her parents Lourens and Johanna Beuk, sister Johanna DeBirk, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Also survived by brother Jack Beuk and sisters Nellie Bowman, Tina Telford and Ansje Oliver. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Memorial Mortuary (5850 South 900 East). Funeral services will be held at the Winder 12th Ward (4350 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City, Utah), on Saturday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah.
