PLAYER OF THE GAME

Hines Ward

The MVP had five catches for 123 yards and one TD. His 37-yard reception set up the Steelers' first TD. He also rushed for 18 yards.

PLAY OF THE GAME

The Steelers came up with plenty of game-changing plays. The biggest occurred in the fourth quarter with the Seahawks still within one score. After Pittsburgh took the ball away from Seattle on an Ike Taylor interception, Hines Ward caught a 43-yard TD pass on a trick play from Antwaan Randle El to seal the game.

LOCAL ANGLE

Pittsburgh's Brett Keisel, a former Cougar, had three total tackles (one on special teams), while backup noseguard Chris Hoke, also from BYU, made one tackle. Meanwhile, Seattle starting cornerback and former Ute Andre Dyson, who has struggled to stay healthy this season, was sidelined early in the second half with an injury.

QUOTABLE

"I told our guys that history is not going to determine our fate, but we could determine history." — Bill Cowher, Steelers head coach
