Constance Faith Geurts Leishman 1933 ~ 2006 "To do well those things which God ordained to be the common lot of all mankind is the truest greatness." The heart of our family was called back home February 5, 2006. Our sweetheart, mother, grandma, sister, and Queen Bee left us to follow in her footsteps of faith. She was born December 1, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah the first child of Theodore I. Geurts and Fayette Parkin Geurts. Her childhood was filled mothering her siblings and forging friendships of trust and loyalty. She attended West High School where she met her future Skip-Bo partner and adoring husband, Lowell L. Leishman. They began their legacy of love July 22, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Under their tender tutelage, seven children came to understand what true selflessness and sacrifice create. "Family" echoed in every action of her life. As the ever-elect lady she was, she cleaved to her covenants as she delighted in serving at the side of her husband as they sought to do the will of the Lord in building the kingdom. A favorite stewardship was spent as "Mission Mom" to 640 mighty missionaries in the Philippines Bacolod Mission from 1988-1991. She magnified every calling in Primary, Relief Society and Young Women (and never forgot the centerpiece)! Her favorite Monday outing for the last 12 years was spent at Special Needs Primary as the pianist for the children she loved and prayed on. She loved growing things, particularly flowers and babies. They thrived at her touch. She refined list making into an art form. Her greatest talent was that of blessing lives with her trademark thoughtfulness. She thought of "just what you needed" even before you knew yourself! Hobby: "Making Memories"! Most of her energy was spent in the pursuit of shaping Sun Valleys, birthdays, recitals, baptisms, concerts, and anything her grandchildren did into meaningful moments. She had a unique sense of the importance of moments. She believed in miracles. She believed in us. And, she believed in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her testimony was simple, solid and sure. She is survived by her soul-mate and eternal companion, Lowell L. Leishman. Children and grandchildren, Shelley (Bill) Davies: Brooke (Dan), Jaman, Krista, Megan, Jordan, Taylor, Matthew; Deborah (David) Checketts: Spencer, Katie (Carras), Nathaniel (Dayna), Andrew- serving in the England London Mission, Ben, Elizabeth; Scott (Kris): Chad, Hailey (Dan), Lindsay, Tanner; Laurie (George) Ralphs: Jordi, Chaz, Colton, Karli; Allison , Kadee, Madison; Nathan (Laurie): Joseph, Anne, Mary, Lucy, Emma, Jeffrey; Kristel (David) Affleck: Rachel, Zachary, A.J., Luke.
