William Edward Bowcutt, Jr. 1922 ~ 2006 William Edward Bowcutt, Jr., our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother finished his earthly trial April 7, 2006. He returned home to his Heavenly Father and the waiting arms of his parents, William and Rachel. He was born July 11, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps, serving in England. He also served in the reserves for several years. On June 21, 1946 he married Edith Van Patten, the love of his life. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked at United Airlines for almost 30 years as an aircraft mechanic. He then worked for the LDS Church Security for 4 years prior to retirement. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities, some of which were Temple worker, member of the Bishopric, Scout Leader and High Priest Group Leader. Bill loved life. He enjoyed camping, fishing and always helping other people. One of his favorite activities was family gatherings for whatever occasion. He was a very skilled craftsman in many areas, particularly in leather, lapidary and wood. Many people have benefited from the results of his skills. He leaves behind his wife, Edith; and five children, David (Barbara), Jay (Brenda), Doug (Rae), Sally (Roy) Heaton and Becky (Jack) Anderson; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren with three more joining us soon; and brothers, Duane (Jane) and Russell (Trudy). Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m. at the Kearns 7th Ward, 4270 West 5700 South. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and from 9-9:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
