Obituary: Luke James Dawson

Luke Dawson 1994 ~ 2006 Luke James Dawson passed away peacefully April 6, 2006 after a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was 11 years old. Luke was born August 17, 1994 in Denver, CO, and recently moved to Salt Lake from Montrose, CO. He was a 5th grader at Uintah Elementary School. Luke loved his family, pets, sports, and the outdoors, and had just returned from a miraculous Make-a-Wish trip to Florida where he played golf and caught a 5-ft. shark. Luke took great comfort in knowing he would join his Poppie, Pete Stone, after his illness. The family wishes to thank the community for its extraordinary outpouring of love and support, including Luke's friend Dr. Lemmons and the entire oncology staff at Primary Childrens' Medical Center, their Bryan Ave. neighbors, Uintah elementary, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and friends of Bill Wilson. Luke is survived by his mother and father, Melissa and Jim; his younger sister, Hannah; his grandmother, Ruth Stone of Aspen, CO; and a large extended family. Services will be held at St. Mark's Cathedral (231 E. 1st South, SLC) Tuesday, April 11th at 4:00 p.m., and internment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery Wednesday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m.
