Mafalda T. Jacobson "Fudgie" On a beautiful spring day, April 4, 2006, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Mafalda Togliatti Jacobson was reunited with her eternal companion, Tony. She was born January 13, 1918 in Bingham Canyon UT, the daughter of Simone and Marietta Corizatti Togliatti. She attended schools in Bingham and graduated in 1936 from Bingham High School. On September 21, 1936 she was married to Anthon Olius (Tony) Jacobson in Salt Lake City, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 21, 1964. Mafalda was active in the LDS Church, teaching in the Sunday School and Primary programs, was a faithful visiting teacher and was an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple for many years. She served a church mission with her husband in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission. She was a very compassionate person to those around her. She is loved and admired by her family for the strength and examples she displayed throughout her life. She worked for many retail outlets, the Salt Lake Hardware and the LDS Church offices. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Agnes (Clare) Rager, and Nadine Gattenby. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Gary Rager, Karen (Ramon) Nieto, Diane (Frank) Moore, Christine (Michael) Bassett, Michael Gattenby; and great-grandchildren, Claresa, Jessica, Samantha, Kaitlin, Devin, Zachary, Gabrielle and Tru. She is survived by her sisters, Lillian Schwab and Bertha Roberson; a dear niece, Norma Boulton; and sisters-in-law, Verona Pease, CIeo Jacobson, Ethel Jacobson; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Batista and John; sisters, Rose, Anna, Marie, Margaret, Thelma; and a great-grandson, Weston Moore. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Midvale East 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 7100 South 87 East, Midvale. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. or Monday at the church from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
