Joseph Millard Tyner 3/27/20 ~ 4/7/06 Joseph Millard Tyner, age 86, passed away April 7, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah from causes incident to age. He was born in Tremonton, Utah March 27, 1920, to Joseph Millard Tyner and Cleora Merle Haws Tyner. Attended West and South High Schools. He married Elaine Baggs July 10, 1941. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps with the intention of becoming a pilot and was stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. After the war, he returned home with Elaine and settled in Sugarhouse. Later they moved to South Cottonwood/Murray. Joe was a longtime employee of the Newspaper Agency Corp. working more than 60 years until he retired to care for his beloved wife, Elaine. A humble man, he enjoyed his family, golfing, all sports, current events, reading, gardening, especially growing tomatoes, and was always learning. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his favorite calling was as a Primary teacher. He was a caring father and a much loved granddad. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janell and Floyd Evans; three special grandsons, David (Tonya), Charles, and Elder Aaron Evans, serving in the Mississippi Jackson Mission; one sister, Alice Sandberg, CA. Preceded in death by wife, Elaine; infant daughter, Janis; son, Kent; parents; brothers and sister, Ted, Lynn, and Verda Gay Davison. Funeral services will be held Tues, April 11, 2006, 12 noon at the Butler 8th Ward chapel, 2695 East 7000 South, Cottonwood Heights. Family and friends may visit one hour before services. Internment at Salt Lake City Cemetery. We would like to thank Silverado Senior Living and Hearts for Hospice for their extraordinary care for Dad, ensuring that his last days were comfortable.
