Marjorie Smith 1920 ~ 2006 Marjorie Larue Berensen Smith passed away April 5, 2006 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born January 18, 1920 in Ferron, Utah, and was the fourth of 15 children born to James Henry Berensen and Venice Nelson. She married Howard Smith, April 4, 1942 in Salt Lake City. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, April 4, 1984. They were the parents of two children, Howard Jr. and Valorie Lynn Smith, and grandparents to five grandchildren, Christopher Weaver and Michael Weaver, Lonnie Smith, Terri Smith and Scott Smith. She is survived by her daughter, 10 bothers and sisters, Keith, Everett (Louise), Shirley, Boyd (Norma), Billie Jean (Albert), Esta Lee (Joe), Carlyle (Pat), Carol (Arlen), Carolyn, Richard (Penny) and sisters-in-laws Florence and Lois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and four brothers and sister, James, Clayton, Brent and Norma, sister-in-law Mildred, brothers in law, Don, Lynn and Allen. Marjorie lived in Overland Park, Kansas most of her married life and retired there from Sears. She was a member of the LDS Church. Marjorie appreciated the care of her five sisters and especially her daughter Valorie who lovingly cared for her mother for the several years. The family would like to thank Hospice and local ward leaders, for their service. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 7 at 12:30 in the South Cottonwood (7th) Ward, 1250 E. 4800 S., Salt Lake City. Marjorie will be buried next to her husband in Branson, Missouri.
