George Farrer "Grant" MIDWAY, UT - Our loving father, George "Grant" Farrer, age 72, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born August 7, 1933, in Heber City, Utah, the son of Karl William and Mary Ann Giles Farrer. Grant married his sweetheart, Diane Stewart, Feb. 2, 1951, in Heber City. Dad worked as an auto mechanic, as well as many different construction jobs and as a dairy farmer-rancher. He moved to Orangeville, Utah, in 1969 to become a Range cattle farmer. He moved back to Midway, Utah, in 1979, where he and Mom built their new home. After a few years he retired and spent many years caring for Diane. Dad loved Auctions, always looking for a 'good deal'. He even traveled to Wendover to try his luck. The past four years were hard on Dad. The loss of Mom and his failing health limited his quality of life. He is survived by four children, Glenn Farrer, Bill (JoAnn) Farrer, Sandra (Larry) Brown, Alan Farrer; 15 grand and 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Diane, August 4, 2001; son, Brent, September 4, 1998; daughter-in-law, Zannie Farrer, September 5, 2002. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 13, 2006, 12 noon at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City. Family and friends may call Thursday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Heber City Cemetery.
