Benjamin Franklin Award winning novelist Dave Shields and U.S. Pro Cycling Champion Marty Jemison will speak at a University of Utah Cycling Club fund-raiser Thursday at 7 p.m. at the U. Fine Arts Auditorium.

Last July, Utah native David Zabriskie became the third American in history to wear the yellow jersey when he beat Lance Armstrong on Stage One of the Tour de France. Several years prior, another Utahn, Marty Jemison, was playing a key role in Armstrong's legendary comeback from cancer.

"Utah is a hotbed for cycling talent, yet few Utahns really understand this sport," Shields said.
