A first-degree felony murder charge was filed Tuesday in 3rd District Court against a Salt Lake man accused of shooting and killing his wife.

Neighbors told police they saw 56-year-old Stephen James Walker arguing with his wife, Cassandra Bryan, on Saturday and later heard gunshots coming from their home at 1382 S. Green St.

According to court documents, Walker called a friend, saying he wanted to commit suicide. The friend went to Walker's home and found the 46-year-old Bryan lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen with her husband sitting nearby, court documents said. A 9 mm handgun was also found close by.
